Kaziware ("we", "us") is a software development and technology company operating at kaziware.com. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website or contact us.
When you use our contact form, the newsletter box, the checklist download or the chat widget, we collect what you type: your name, your email address and the contents of your message. Alongside it our server records the time, the page you submitted from and your IP address, which we use to stop automated spam.
We do not collect payment information through this website. If you order from the shop, the conversation moves to WhatsApp and is covered by WhatsApp's own privacy terms.
We use your contact details to reply to you, discuss the work and deliver our services. Nothing more.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not run advertising on this site.
This website stores your theme preference, your sound preference and your analytics choice in your browser's local storage. Those stay on your device.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is switched off until you agree: the banner appears on your first visit, nothing is loaded and no analytics cookie is set unless you choose "Allow", and you can decline with no loss of function. If you decline, no analytics requests are made at all.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing or cross-site tracking.
Form submissions reach us as email and are also written to a private log on our server, outside the public website, readable only by us. We keep enquiries for 24 months from your last contact, and project correspondence for 7 years where tax or contract law requires it. Spam-prevention records are discarded within 24 hours.
You may ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing us, and we will do so within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it.
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be told what we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent you have given.
To exercise any of these, email info@kaziware.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.
Three third parties are involved in running this site:
Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads. We are moving these onto our own server to remove that.
Google Analytics 4 — only after you agree, as described above.
WhatsApp (Meta) — if you tap a WhatsApp link, the conversation happens on WhatsApp under their terms, not ours.
Form submissions are handled by our own server. They are not passed to any external form service.
The site runs on shared hosting. Enquiry emails sit in our mailbox; the backup log lives outside the public part of the server and is not reachable from the internet. The site is served over HTTPS.
If a breach ever puts your data at real risk, we will tell you and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, as the Act requires.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
